What are the most important criteria?

We are looking to invest in environmentally conscious businesses that are owned, led or influenced by women. Specifically, we are looking for:

• Experienced teams with a strong preference for women in leadership positions

• Large, growing markets

• Defensible products/solutions

• Capital efficient models

• Strong potential for return

What investment stage?

We make initial investments at the Pre-Series A to Series A stage. We need to see demonstrated proof of concept, established product market fit and prefer revenue-generating companies seeking capital to accelerate their growth. We will make follow-on investments in our portfolio companies on a deal-by-deal basis.

Which sectors?

We are primarily focused on industries where we can increase the engagement of women, while leveraging our networks to add value to our portfolio companies. These include:

• Sustainability and Climate Tech

• Food & Agri

• Healthcare

• EdTech

• Fintech

We are excited about evaluating companies that can include technology or innovation in their products or services.

Innovation can be in products, process, delivery or any other form which improves efficiency, cost effectiveness, scalability and growth.

Where do we invest?

AWE Early Growth Fund I is focused on investing in businesses primarily in India and selectively in the USA.

What is the investment amount?

The typical investments will be $500,000 to $1 million in initial rounds with the total amount being $500,000 to $3 million after follow-on investments.
